Homemade Protein Bars!

You asked for it, and here it is! Two versions of my homemade protein bars recipe!

Choco-Nutty-Cran Bars

2 cups oatmeal
1 cup chocolate protein powder
1/4 cup walnuts
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup almond milk
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup honey or agave nectar
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix all dry ingredients in one bowl and all wet ingredients in another bowl. Microwave the wet ingredients about 30 seconds to soften the peanut butter for easy stirring. Once completely mixed, add the wet ingredients to the dry bowl and stir. It was easier for me to get my hands dirty and knead together rather than using a spoon.

Once combined, get a cookie sheet out with a piece of wax paper covering, and place the mixture in the center. Mush (very technical term, I know!) down to spread evenly in a basic rectangle shape. Place in the refridgerator for about an hour to set, and then they will be ready to cut. You can cut to your own portion size preference, but my preference is 8 bars.

These are good room temperature, but even better chilled in the fridge! Enjoy!

Vanilla-Cran Bars

2 cups oatmeal
1 cup vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1 cup almond milk
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup honey or agave nectar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
