So did you resolve to be a better you in 2013 like most of the rest of the US population? Whatever your goals, whether fitness regime, nutrition program, healthy lifestyle, drinking more water, getting rid of some, alcohol, cigarettes… I encourage you to resolve with specificity! What’s that mean you ask?
#1 specific and measurable goals! If weight loss, track pounds, inches, and clothing size. If health, track weight, cholesterol, and blood pressure.
#2 celebrate your successes by setting benchmarks with rewards. For example, after you lose your first 10 pounds, treat yourself to a ice cream cone!
#3 listen to your body. Maybe your initial goal was to lose 50 pounds… And let’s say you lose 40 this year. Congratulate yourself on a job well done, and ask yourself, “how do I feel?” If the answer is good, healthy, confident… Then maybe 40 was the right number! The point is to pay attention to how you feel throughout the process!
